Israel kills Islamic Jihad commander in Gaza

The Israeli military said Tuesday that it had killed an Islamic Jihad commander in the Gaza Strip.

Axar.az reports, citing Xinhua, that in a statement, the military identified the commander as Tareq Anwar Khamis Ra'i, a company commander in the group's supply unit. It said he was killed in an airstrike Sunday in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza, adding that he "advanced terror attacks against troops."

According to the Gaza health authorities, Israeli attacks have killed at least 73,399 people and injured 174,310 others in Gaza since October 2023.
