A 24-year-old Russian woman is suspected of blowing up a military serviceman’s car in St. Petersburg’s Slavyanka district on August 27.

Axar.az informs, citing Russian media, that the woman does not live in St. Petersburg but came to the city from another region. Several months ago, unknown individuals contacted her via a messaging app. Later, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine joined the communication.

The girl was engaged in lengthy conversations about politics, the special military operation and the situation in Russia. Eventually, she was offered money to plant a bomb under a specific car. In return, she was promised help leaving Russia and moving to Ukraine. On the evening of August 26, the woman arrived in Shushary, made her way to the specified address in Slavyanka and found the car she had been directed to. She attached an improvised explosive device to the underside of the vehicle, directly beneath the driver's seat. She then headed to Pulkovo Airport.

At around 5 a.m. on August 27, she flew from St. Petersburg to Turkiye. Afterward, security and criminal investigation officers identified the suspected perpetrator. According to the report, this required complex technical measures. When it was established that the woman had left Russia, Russian authorities contacted Turkish law enforcement and asked them to detain her.

However, the suspect was reportedly no longer in Turkiye by that time. Citing the Turkish side, the report claims that she had already flown to Chisinau. There is currently no reliable information about her subsequent movements.

It should be noted that an explosion occurred in a passenger car in St. Petersburg’s Slavyanka district. The blast killed the Russian lieutenant colonel and injured his wife.
