Rail freight traffic between Russia and Armenia increased by 63.4% in the first seven months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, reaching 86,000 tons.
Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Russia’s Transport Ministry provided the data following a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek. Russian Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin also participated in the talks.
The sides discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, including in the transport sector.
