Russian President Vladimir Putin said U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposals for resolving the Ukraine conflict include difficult decisions for Russia, but Moscow understands that they represent movement in the right direction.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Putin made the remarks during the plenary session of the 23rd meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.

“There are many proposals [for resolving the conflict in Ukraine], including some difficult decisions for us put forward by President Trump. But overall, we understand that this is movement in the right direction,” Putin said.
