Death toll rises to eight in shootings in Turkiye

At least eight people have been killed and one injured in a series of shootings across several villages in Turkiye's Afyonkarahisar province.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the attacks occurred in the Ihsaniye district, where five people were found dead in two separate vehicles in the rural neighbourhoods of Ayazini and Kiyir.

The suspect is also believed to have killed two more people and wounded another person at a separate location along his escape route.

The attacker fled in a red light commercial vehicle, prompting police and gendarmerie forces to launch a large-scale manhunt, including in neighbouring provinces.

Security forces have sealed off the entrances and exits of the affected settlements as efforts to apprehend the suspect and identify the victims continue.
