Russia is expected to be represented by Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) head Kirill Dmitriev at an upcoming meeting with US First Lady Melania Trump at the White House.
Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said their participation would depend on logistical arrangements and visa issues.
Peskov said both officials would attend if the necessary arrangements were completed. He noted that some members of the delegation travelling with Lantratova had not yet received their visas.
The meeting between Russian and Ukrainian representatives was organised at the initiative of US First Lady Melania Trump and will be held at the White House in Washington.
According to an earlier statement from the White House press service, the meeting will focus on the humanitarian operation in the city of Oleshky in Ukraine’s Kherson region. With Melania Trump’s mediation, a temporary ceasefire agreement was reached to provide assistance to civilians and organise the evacuation of residents.
The ceasefire was in effect from October 27 to November 2. During this period, humanitarian aid, including food, medicine and essential supplies, was delivered, while residents wishing to leave the combat zone were evacuated.
Ukraine will be represented at the meeting in Washington by Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets and David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.
According to the White House, Melania Trump will issue a statement on the results of the humanitarian operation in Oleshky.
The meeting comes as preparations continue for the next round of trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11.
