Putin changed the head of the Black Sea Fleet

After the latest strikes on military facilities in Crimea, the Russian leadership is losing confidence in the security of the peninsula.

Axar.az reports that the US Institute for the Study of War has released information about this.

"On August 17, Vice Admiral Viktor Sokolov replaced Admiral Igor Osipov as the commander of the Black Sea Fleet. Russian authorities are trying to keep Sokolov's destination a secret because of the high "terror threat" in Sevastopol. Ukraine's recent strikes have affected Russian military facilities in Crimea and the Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol. "He brought the Russian forces to a state of high readiness and restructured the composition, material and technical equipment, and leadership of his forces," the statement said.
