Sweden to Ankara: This is not a tripartite agreement...

To be honest, this is not a tripartite agreement, but a security agreement that Finland and Sweden promised to Turkey.

Axar.az reports that Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said this while talking about the ratification process of NATO membership.

"We will fulfil our commitments to Turkey. I would like to remind you that a new bill against terrorism is expected to enter into force next spring. Negotiations are already underway with Turkey on the issue. This situation is proof of our joint fight against terrorism with NATO," said the Prime Minister.

Referring to the extension of the process of Sweden's NATO membership approval by Turkey, Kristersson said that the issue is already in Ankara's hands.

"I respect Turkey's opinion. The agreement we signed with Turkey as Sweden and Finland shows that we take their security very seriously."
