The mafia transferred nuclear materials to Iran

The United States has accused one of the leaders of the criminal organization known as "Yakuza" of trying to transfer nuclear materials to Iran.

Axar.az informs that the "Associated Press" reported on this with reference to US officials.

According to information, Japanese mafia leader Takeshi Ebisawa and his Thai accomplice Samphob Singasiri were accused of selling uranium and plutonium to Iran.

They said they intended to sell small samples of nuclear materials to an undercover agent of the US Drug Enforcement Administration posing as a relative of a high-ranking Iranian military official and an arms smuggler.

The US has confirmed that these samples submitted to the investigation contain uranium and plutonium, which are used in the production of weapons.

Currently, Iranian officials have not made any statement on the matter.

It should be noted that "Yakuza" is one of the most famous criminal groups in Japan.
