Israeli emergency cabinet members Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot suggested an immediate counterattack against Iran after the attack, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opposed the idea.
Axar.az reports that the "Axios" publication wrote about this concerning an anonymous Israeli source.
"Gantz and Eysenkot said that the longer Israel waits, the more difficult it will be to explain to the international community the legitimacy of the counterattack. The ministers suggested that a counter-attack would end the exchange of strikes when Iranian drones continued to fly toward Israel.
"Netanyahu and other members of the military cabinet opposed this idea because at that time it was not clear whether there were any casualties or deaths as a result of the Iranian strikes," the source said.
It was noted that Netanyahu was waiting for a phone call with Biden:
"There were several response options, but Biden's call prevented them."
