PKK behind terror attack in Turkish province

Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) terrorist organization stands behind the terror attack in Turkey’s Sirnak province, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said, TRT Haber TV channel reported Aug. 26.

He said that the activity of PKK terrorists will not weaken Turkey's fight against them.

"The fight against the PKK will be continued," Yildirim added.

An explosion occurred in Turkey’s southeastern province of Sirnak on Aug. 26, as a result of which nine people have been killed and more than 60 have been injured.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives.

The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
