Moscow restricts publishing drone strike aftermath

Moscow authorities will impose fines of up to 200,000 rubles for publishing photos, videos, or other information related to the aftermath of terrorist attacks and drone strikes.

Axar.az reports that the decision was published on the official website of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the city government.

The order, issued by Moscow’s Anti-Terrorist Commission, said the restrictions were introduced to “prevent the dissemination of unreliable information.”

Under the new rules, media outlets, emergency services, legal entities, state institutions, and private citizens are prohibited from publishing text, photo, or video materials showing the aftermath of “terrorist acts, including drone attacks,” until official information is released by the Russian Defence Ministry, the Moscow mayor’s office, or city authorities.

The restrictions also apply to damage caused by unmanned aerial vehicles and other forms of attacks targeting civilians, property, or critical infrastructure.
