In Argentina, the age of criminal responsibility may be lowered from 16 to 13.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Justice of the country.

The bill was supported by Justice Minister Marina Cuneo Libarona and Security Minister Patricia Bullrich. The purpose of the law is to ensure that minors do not go unpunished against the backdrop of mass involvement in organized crime.

"The youth of today cannot be compared with the youth of 40 years ago. The new law will combat the increase in criminality among minors, which is one of the main problems for the well-being of our country," the Ministry of Justice said.

It is noted that in 2023, minors committed about 2.2 thousand crimes.
