US soldier jailed for nearly 14 years in Russia

The Russian court sentenced the American mercenary soldier to 14 years in absentia for his participation in the armed conflict on the side of Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that the Russian Investigative Committee has released information about this.

"Evidence collected by the Russian Investigative Committee was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict St. John Michael-Arthur, born in 1991, a US citizen and a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mercenary), the information said.

The Russian side has put St. John Michael-Arthur on an international search.
