Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian said he is ready for negotiations to soften relations with the West.
Axar.az reports that he said this in his speech at the swearing-in ceremony.
"We call on Western countries to understand the need to establish relations based on mutual respect and equality. We are ready to hold talks with the countries that do not understand Iran's place in the world so far in order to eliminate the tension," he said.
It should be noted that the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian was held in the parliament building in Tehran today.
