Gas leak suspected in deadly mine explosion in Iran

An explosion has occurred in a mine in the city of Tabas, located in Iran's South Khorasan province.

Axar.az informs that it was stated by Pir Hossein Kolivand, head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, the explosion resulted in the deaths of 28 people and injuries to 17 others.

Kolivand also reported that 24 individuals are missing. The incident is said to have been caused by a gas leak.

The number of fatalities in the coal mine accident in Tabas has reached 51.

It was reported by Iran's Mehr News Agency, an additional 20 people have been injured.
