France deployed police special forces to Martinique

CRS 8 police special forces have been deployed to Martinique to quell ongoing protests in the French Caribbean department.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by BFMTV, the special forces arrived on the island yesterday evening. Established in 2021, these units specialize in suppressing protest actions.

Residents of Martinique have started protesting, citing that prices are 40 percent higher than in France. The Martinique government has imposed a curfew in the capital, Fort-de-France, and in the town of Lamentin.
