Iran's embassy in Lebanon has condemned Israel's intense strikes on a location it calls a Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut and warned of a dangerous escalation in the Middle East.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by "Arab News."

"This is a condemnable crime... It involves a dangerous escalation that changes the rules of the game. Israel will receive the punishment it deserves," the embassy stated.

In turn, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasir Kanani, stated that the strike constitutes a war crime, and both Israel and the U.S. must bear responsibility for it.

It is noted that there are claims that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah was killed as a result of the strikes.
