US seeks Lebanon's help for ceasefire

The U.S. government has reached out to the Lebanese army to persuade them to agree to an unconditional ceasefire with Israel.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by the Sky News Arabia channel, citing a source from the U.S. Department of Defense.

"We contacted the Lebanese army's command and emphasized the importance of convincing the government to accept an unconditional ceasefire," the source stated.

It is noted that the Israeli army launched a local ground operation in southern Lebanon the previous day, while the Lebanese army has pulled back 5 kilometers from the border.
