Bill Gates has privately donated $50 million to a non-profit backing Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign, according to reports.

Axar.az reports that although Gates has not publicly endorsed Harris, he described this election as "different" and expressed concerns about the potential impact of a second Trump presidency on global health and family planning initiatives supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Gates, known for avoiding political endorsements, emphasized his bipartisan stance, saying he supports candidates committed to healthcare, poverty reduction, and climate action. His children, Rory and Phoebe, reportedly encouraged him to engage more in political philanthropy.

The donation went to Future Forward, Harris's main external fundraising group, which keeps donor identities private. Gates’s involvement reflects a broader trend of billionaires influencing the election, with some, like Stephen Schwarzman, openly backing Trump, while others, such as JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, offer discreet support to Harris.
