Official Ankara considers Cyprus' NATO membership application unacceptable.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement by Turkiye's Ministry of National Defense.

It was noted that such an attempt would disturb the delicate balance on the Cyprus issue and negatively affect the process of resolving the problem.

"Turkiye, as a NATO member country, reminds that decisions on the alliance's expansion are made unanimously, and insists that these processes must be carried out with the consideration of each country's national security concerns. In the current situation, Cyprus' application for NATO membership is an unacceptable event for Turkiye."

It is worth noting that media outlets have reported that the Republic of Cyprus has submitted its plan to join NATO to the U.S. administration.
