Turkiye eliminates Kurdish commander in Syria

The Turkish intelligence service (MIT) has killed a leader of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Syria.

Axar.az reports that citing Anadolu Agency, MIT neutralized Yasar Cekik, a PKK/YPG leader on the red list for individuals wanted for terrorism, in the Tal Rifaat region, about 20 kilometers inside Syria."

Yasar Cekik was a significant local leader of the Syrian Kurdish People's Defence Units (YPG), a group responsible for a long-standing insurgency against Turkiye and the mastermind behind multiple attacks on Turkish security forces within Turkiye.
