SDP wins big in Romania's Parliamentary elections

After counting 99% of the ballots, Romania's ruling Social Democratic Party (SDP) has gained a significant advantage in both chambers of parliament.

Axar.az reports that according to the Romanian Central Election Commission, the SDP secured 22.78% of the Senate vote, followed by the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) with 18.3%, the National Liberal Party (NLP) with 14.44%, the Save Romania Union (USR) with 11.96%, the Save Romania - S.O.S Party (S.O.S RO) with 7.57%, the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) with 6.51%, and the Party of Young People (POT) with 6.23%.

For the Chamber of Deputies, the SDP received 23.41%, AUR 17.82%, NLP 13.51%, S.O.S RO 7.16%, UDMR 6.46%, and POT 6.29% of the votes.

A total of 456 members will enter the parliament.

The parliamentary elections in Romania were held yesterday.
