At this stage, it would be wrong to explain the events in Syria through any foreign intervention.
Axar.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated this during a press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi while discussing the recent developments in Syria.
"It was wrong that the regime did not sincerely participate in the process. The cause of the conflicts is the failure to resolve the problem for 13 years. We have always supported Syria's territorial integrity. The recent events show once again that the official Damascus must reach a compromise with its people and legitimate opposition. The efforts of Turkiye and Iran are vital for Syria. The new Astana process will be implemented. The cessation of the civil war through the Astana process was a significant success, and Turkiye, Russia, and Iran played a major role in this process," Fidan stated.
He added that Turkiye and Iran saw eye-to-eye in cooperation against terrorism and said Ankara would not allow terrorist groups to exploit instability in Syria.
It should be noted that Araghchi went directly from Damascus to Ankara after meeting with Bashar al-Assad.
