Ukraine to sign peace deal in 2025

Ukraine will sign a peace agreement in 2025, giving up several of its territories.

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the Financial Times.

The newspaper states that this will be an agreement related to the country’s future security guarantees. Although Ukraine will lose its territories, a new status quo will be established through the security guarantees and international support it will gain. This agreement will also indefinitely delay the issue of NATO membership.

Forecasts suggest that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will be forced to accept de facto control over the territories occupied by Russian Armed Forces, even though legally they will not be under Ukrainian control.

"The Kyiv government will hand over territories in exchange for U.S. support and European security guarantees, but the country’s NATO membership will be temporarily suspended," the authors of the newspaper believe.

Earlier, Die Welt also wrote that Ukraine is currently very weakened militarily and will be forced to enter negotiations next year, with territorial concessions being the only way out.
