Crimea and Sevastopol are of strategic importance for all of Russia.

Axar.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this at the opening of the meeting on the socio-economic development of the regions.

"Today's meeting is dedicated to the development of our two regions, which are of serious and even strategic importance for the whole country - the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," the head of state said.

He said that the results, existing problems, and the main tasks ahead will be discussed at the meeting.
