A tripartite meeting between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran in the field of transport will take place on January 28.

Axar.az reports that this was announced during a video conversation between the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Farzan Sadiq, and the Minister of Transport of Russia, Roman Starovoit.

The location and level of the meeting have not been announced.

During the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on the "roadmap" for 2025 and cooperation on the use of the eastern part of the Caspian Sea.

Also, the technical implementation works on the construction of the Rasht-Astara railway were discussed.

It should be recalled that on May 17, 2023, Russia and Iran signed an agreement on the joint construction of the Rasht-Astara railway section. This route will allow connecting the land parts of the North-South international transport corridor and increase the economic efficiency of the Trans-Caspian route through Azerbaijan.
