In February, Prime Minister Pashinyan will travel to Washington and will attend a breakfast with Donald Trump. It’s possible that Trump has never heard of Pashinyan, and he likely doesn't care about Armenia.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian political scientist Igor Korotchenko in an interview with Moscow-Baku.

"It’s possible that Trump knows that there is a country called Armenia. However, from Trump’s perspective, Armenia and the South Caucasus are very distant issues. The question here is whether Pashinyan can reach an agreement with the Armenian lobby in the U.S. Is the Armenian government ready to hire lobbyists—openly or secretly? Recently, Robert Menendez, a prominent advocate for Armenia’s interests and former U.S. senator, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. Pashinyan will be looking for such Menendezes for himself. After the change of power in the U.S., Pashinyan needs certain guarantees to ensure the continuation of Biden’s Armenia policy," he said.
