The sudden appearance of Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa's wife, Latifa al-Darubi, has drawn public attention.

Axar.az reports that Latifa al-Darubi accompanied her husband on official visits to Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, where she met with Turkiye's First Lady Emine Erdogan.

It is worth noting that Latifa al-Darubi was born in 1984 and is a philologist by profession. She comes from a prominent family in the city of Qaryatayn near Khoms.

The Darubi family has a long history dating back to the Ottoman Empire.
