The first report on the crash of an AZAL aircraft in Aktau has been published by the Kazakh authorities. It contains many specific technical details. It’s better to wait for comments from aviation specialists.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian political scientist Sergei Markov.
It’s better to wait for comments from aviation specialists. One thing is clear from the report—there were two explosions near Grozny airport, and the debris from them damaged the aircraft’s systems, leading to the crash. However, this was almost immediately known.
"The details are important. For example, why didn’t the plane land at nearby airports and instead flew to Aktau? Where did the version of the oxygen tank explosion and birds come from?(None of these versions have been confirmed in the initial report – editor's note) When exactly was the crew warned about the "Carpet" system near Grozny? I haven’t seen answers to these questions yet. We’re waiting for comments from aviation experts."
It should be noted that the preliminary report on the investigation into the AZAL aircraft crash in Aktau has been published. According to the report, the plane crashed due to external interference, and neither the "bird strike" nor the "oxygen tank explosion" have been confirmed.
It is worth reminding that the passenger plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight, owned by AZAL, was shot down by the Russian air defense system over Grozny on December 25, 2024. Since it was not allowed to land, the plane headed to Kazakhstan and crashed near Aktau airport. Of the 67 people on board, 38 died, and 29 survived.
