The commander and crew members carried out preparations for the flight.

Axar.az reports that this was noted in the preliminary report of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan regarding the crash of the Embraer 190 passenger aircraft belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines near Aktau airport.

It is reported that the crew members of the aircraft, consisting of the commander, co-pilot, chief flight attendant, and two flight attendants, underwent a check-up at the medical center of Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku before the flight.

“Before the flight, the aircraft was inspected by the technical staff of the SILK WAY TECHNICS company at 03:00 as part of the “DEPARTURE CHECK” and was accepted by the personnel at 03:20,” the report emphasized.

It should be noted that the passenger aircraft operating the Baku-Grozny flight belonging to AZAL was shot down by the Russian anti-aircraft missile system in Grozny on December 25, 2024. A plane bound for Kazakhstan crashed near Aktau airport after being denied landing permission. Of the 67 people on board, 38 were killed and 29 survived.
