After Ukraine refused to extend its transit contract with Gazprom, Slovakia, which lost its previous gas routes, has started importing Russian gas via the "Turkish Stream."

Axar.az informs that this was reported by the head of Slovakia's SPP gas company, Vojtech Ferenc.

Gas supply started on February 1, and it will be doubled starting in April.

It was also mentioned that SPP is establishing a subsidiary in Ukraine and obtaining a gas transportation license to transit gas from Russia.

Ferenc stated that the gas supply via the new route will cost 90 million euros more compared to the previous route.
