The relevant work regarding the Azerbaijani vessels detained in Eritrea is ongoing. A statement will be issued based on the outcome.

Axar.az informs that this was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that on November 7, 2024, the "CMS Pahlavan," "CMS Igid," and "CMS-3" vessels, which were operated by the Azerbaijani branch of the company "Caspian Marine Services B.V." and sailing under the Azerbaijani flag, entered Eritrean territorial waters due to deteriorating weather conditions while en route from the Suez Canal to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Despite initial contact with Eritrean port authorities during the journey, communication was incomplete, and upon entering the 12-mile territorial waters, Eritrean authorities declared the entry unauthorized and detained the vessels.

The crew members aboard the vessels consisted of 18 Azerbaijani nationals and 6 foreign citizens, totaling 24 people.
