Russia continues to recruit Indian nationals to fight in Ukraine. Delhi has formally appealed to Moscow, urging them to put an end to this.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, at least 126 Indians have been enlisted to fight.

Randhir Caiswal, a spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, told reporters that the issue has been raised with Russian authorities in Moscow as well as with Russia's embassy in Delhi.

He also highlighted that, of the recruits, 96 Indians have been expelled from the Russian army, 12 have been killed, 16 are missing, and one is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
