US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order declaring English as the official language of the United States for the first time in history.

It is reported that English is the most widely spoken language in the country, but it has never been officially recognized at the federal level in the United States.

With this order, Trump revoked former President Bill Clinton's order requiring governments and agencies receiving federal funding to provide language support to non-English speakers.

"Making English an official language will not only facilitate communication, but also create a more efficient society," the decision says.
