The White House believes that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should rectify the situation after a dispute with US President Donald Trump and Vice President James David Vance.

At the same time, the White House said that the dispute that occurred during the meeting was unplanned and went against expectations:

“Trump was angry about the demand for security guarantees in the rare earths deal. Now, White House officials say they do not know exactly what Zelensky can do to convince Trump to continue negotiations, but it is still possible. The ball is in President Zelensky’s court. Trump believes that Zelensky should return to the negotiating table and he should come and fix everything.”
