Israel has halted all aid to Gaza, citing Hamas's rejection of a U.S. proposal to extend the first phase of the ceasefire, which began on January 19.
Axar.az, citing The Washington Post, reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of "further consequences" if Hamas does not release hostages.
The truce was initially planned as a three-phase deal, but phase-two negotiations stalled.
The U.S., Israel, and mediators proposed extending the ceasefire through Ramadan and Passover, but Hamas accused Israel of trying to bypass the agreed process. Hamas insisted that the remaining Israeli hostages would only be released through negotiations in phase two. Meanwhile, the U.S. has expedited $4 billion in military aid to Israel.
