Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, is reportedly in negotiations to purchase the historic Spanish La Liga club Valencia.
Axar.az reports citing Foot Mercato, Cristiano Ronaldo has engaged in discussions with Valencia’s current owner, Peter Lim, to become the majority shareholder of the Mestalla-based club.
Peter Lim is reportedly keen to sell his entire stake in the club by the end of the season, while Ronaldo is personally interested in acquiring Valencia.
The Portuguese legend, who intends to settle in Spain after his playing career, is expected to seek financial support from Saudi Arabia’s royal investment funds to complete the deal.
Founded in 1919, Valencia boasts an impressive history, including six La Liga titles, one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, and two UEFA Cups.
Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has been earning a staggering 200 million euros per year (approximately 208 million dollars).
The 40-year-old forward has delivered an impressive performance this season, scoring 25 goals and providing 4 assists in 30 matches for the Saudi club.
