Regional countries must take responsibility for the situation in Syria.

Axar.az reports that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan made these remarks to journalists after a meeting in Amman between the foreign ministers of Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Turkiye, and Syria.

He said that the provocations that have taken place in recent days are attempts to divert Syria from its path:

"Regional countries must take the necessary steps. We have observed that the Syrian government has been trying to 'derail' the political course it has been pursuing for weeks with provocations in recent days."

Fidan noted that Ankara's priority in the region is the destruction of the PKK terrorist group.
