A report dedicated to the national leader Heydar Aliyev was aired on Russia's "Rossiya-1" television channel, hosted by Dmitry Kiselyov on the "Vesti Nedeli" program.
Axar.az informs that the report mentioned plans to erect a monument to Heydar Aliyev in a park near the Azerbaijani Embassy in Moscow.
It was noted that construction workers from the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) had approached Moscow with a request to erect this monument, as Heydar Aliyev was one of the organizers of the "construction of the century" and headed the commission responsible for the BAM project implementation under the Soviet Council of Ministers.
Additionally, a similar report was aired on Russia's "First Channel" the previous day.
"The monument to Heydar Aliyev will soon be erected in Moscow. This week, the foundation stone of the monument was laid in the park near the Azerbaijani Embassy. For millions of Russians, this politician’s name is associated with the Baikal-Amur Mainline. This large-scale and unique logistical project was mainly realized thanks to Heydar Aliyev's efforts and determination. Despite nature and technical challenges, as well as economic difficulties, the mainline was put into operation on time," the host mentioned.
