Ankara will send a military delegation to Syria in the coming days to discuss the training of the Syrian army, with a Turkish officer set to be appointed as an advisor to the Syrian military leadership.
Axar.az informs this was reported by Abdulgadir Selvi, a columnist for the "Hurriyet" newspaper.
"Shortly, a military delegation will visit Syria for the second time. During the first visit on March 13, a high-level Turkish delegation, including officials from the Foreign Ministry, Defense Ministry, and MIT, traveled to Damascus. General-Major Ilkay Altındag, head of the Defense and Security Affairs Directorate of Turkiye’s Ministry of Defense, was also part of the group. As part of our military cooperation with Syria, we will contribute to the reconstruction of the Syrian army and provide modern defense equipment to enhance its capabilities," Selvi said.
