Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed to have twice attacked the USS Harry Truman carrier group in the Red Sea in response to US airstrikes.
Axar.az, citing Times of Israel, reports that while the US has not officially confirmed the attacks, an anonymous official stated that drones and at least one missile were launched, though they were intercepted or fell into the water.
US strikes over the weekend reportedly killed 53 people, including women and children, according to the Houthis.
In response, the Houthis targeted an Israel-linked ship and vowed further escalation. The UN has called for de-escalation, but the conflict continues to impact regional stability and global shipping. The US has warned of further military action, while Iran has condemned American strikes. Meanwhile, Israel remains on high alert for potential Houthi missile and drone attacks.
