Finance Minister Şimşek refutes false claims of resignation

Reports in some media outlets about Turkiye’s Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek preparing to resign are not true.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the Directorate of Public Relations of the Turkish Presidential Administration.

M. Şimşek also clarified the circulating reports on his social media account:

“We are on the job. Please do not believe in unfounded news!”

It is worth mentioning that after the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the dollar sharply increased in value, surpassing 40 lira. Currently, the dollar is around 38 lira.
