The Kremlin condemns the actions of the Moldovan authorities in detaining the leader of Gagauzia, Yevgeniya Gutsul.

Axar.az reports that this statement was made by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

"The Moldovan authorities are using the most open forms of pressure against popular politicians who are in competition with Maia Sandu. It appears that Chisinau has chosen a tactic of disregarding laws, democracy, and the principles of political pluralism, simply exerting open pressure on all political opponents," Peskov said.

It should be noted that the leader of Gagauzia, Yevgeniya Gutsul, was detained yesterday at Chisinau airport.
