Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Orenburg region governor Denis Pasler, offered him the leadership of Sverdlovsk region.

Axar.az reports that this was announced by TASS.

'You are already aware, as this has been discussed with you in the administration. I would like to ask you to return to a place that is familiar to you, where you previously held a high position. You know this region very well; it is one of our key industrial areas,' Putin told Pasler.

'Now, I would like to ask you—how do you view this proposal?' the president inquired.

'Thank you for this offer. As you said, it is a familiar region to me,' the governor responded, agreeing to the proposal.
