Russia will judge the current U.S. administration by its concrete actions and steps.

Axar.az reports this was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

“We’re hearing a completely different rhetoric, completely different words and statements, which can be described as a real understanding that the previous [U.S.] administration led bilateral relations into a deadlock,” Zakharova said. “That’s why I believe we will, of course, be guided by deeds and the specific steps that are taken. But it’s also impossible not to hear and recognize a certain message, a certain desire to resolve bilateral relations, as well as some international issues created by the previous administration.”

“This must certainly be acknowledged too. But trust, yet verify — and the verification will come through concrete actions,” the diplomat added.

It’s worth noting that the second round of consultations between Russian and U.S. delegations began yesterday in Istanbul.
