The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, received a delegation led by the Commander of the Turkish Navy (HDQ), Fleet Admiral Ercument Tatlıoghlu, who is on an official visit to our country.

The guests first came to Victory Park and laid a wreath in front of the Victory Monument. Then, they visited the graves of the National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, and Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor. They also visited the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrdom.

Welcoming the guests, the Minister of Defense expressed his pleasure to see them in our country. He specifically noted that the existing cooperation, friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are based on mutual trust, confidence, and support.

Colonel General Z. Hasanov, who always expressed his satisfaction with his visits to the brotherly country and the meetings he held there, highly appreciated the organization of international exercises held in the Republic of Turkiye, as well as the professionalism of our participating military personnel.

Fleet Admiral E.Tatlıoghlu, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the sincere attitude and hospitality shown and expressed his satisfaction with being on a visit to our country. The high-ranking guest drew attention to the positive impact of our military relations, which have reached the level of a strategic alliance, on the development of the Navy of both brotherly countries.

The meeting discussed the current state of cooperation in the military and military education fields and issues of further expansion and development in the future, and discussed the opportunities and prospects of relations between the Navies of both countries.

Then, a meeting was held with the Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Bakhtiyar Ersay. During the meeting, which took place within the framework of a sincere dialogue, a wide exchange of views was held on the positive results of the work done to adapt the Azerbaijani Army to the model of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkiye.

The Turkish delegation finally visited the Azerbaijani Navy. The Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy, 1st Rank Captain Shahin Mammadov, who welcomed the guests, held discussions with his Turkish counterpart on issues of mutual interest.
