An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 was recorded in Tajikistan.

Axar.az informs that the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported this.

According to the information, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 171 km southeast of the city of Khojand, and its focus was at a depth of 10 km.

There is no information about casualties or damage.

According to the Crisis Management Center of the Committee for Emergencies and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan, 17 residential buildings and one school were partially destroyed at the epicenter of the earthquake.
