The European Union (EU) is considering sending military advisers to Ukraine to organize training.
Axar.az informs that this was stated by the European Commission's press secretary, Anitta Gipper, at a briefing in Brussels.
According to her, the issue of sending troops from EU countries was discussed at the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg.
"Indeed, this issue is being discussed, but the main issue here is to support Ukraine and strengthen it as much as possible. Discussions are also ongoing on the adaptation of the mission, but I cannot share additional information yet," Gipper said.
However, the press secretary did not answer the question of whether the EU training mission will be deployed to the territory of Ukraine after a ceasefire is reached in the war with Russia or whether this is possible during ongoing military operations.
Recall that according to the commander of the Danish Land Forces, Major General Peter Boysen, his country plans to send its army to Ukraine. But this will not be a peacekeeping mission. Danish soldiers will be sent for training.
