Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan has accused former President Robert Kocharyan of being a Russian agent.

Axar.az reports “I think Robert Kocharyan is a person having a status of a Russian spy in Armenia,” Simonyan said at a press briefing. “He is a politician pursuing Russian interests and rendering services only in that direction.”

Simonyan said his remarks are his personal opinion.

“I see his activities, the statements he is making, and this is my political assessment. When you make a statement that is identical with the Russian statements, when members of your faction make speeches which match with the views of the Russian side, then I can make such a conclusion," he said.
